The 2022 Serbian White Eagles squad

The 2022 season was an eventful one for the Serbian White Eagles as several new players were brought in.

On February 2, the Serbian White Eagles announced the signing of defender Dejan Koraksic. Koraksic can play both the left-back and centre-back positions. To date, he has played for clubs such as Novi Pazar, Metalac Gornji Milanovac, Radnik Bijeljina, Czech side Blansko, Borac Cacak and most recently Smederevo.

On February 3, the club announced the signing of midfielder Srdjan Simovic. Simovic plays as a left-wing but can also play the left-back position. Simovic has played for several clubs in Serbia and most recently he played abroad for Mongolian side Ulaanbaatar City FC.

On February 4, the club announced the signing of forward Stefan Milosevic. Milosevic (born January 4, 1995 in Raska) has played for several clubs in Serbia including Metalac Gornji Milanovac and most recently Bane Raska.

On March 10, the club announced the signing of young forward Nikola Timotijevic. Timotijevic (born April 23, 2002 in Kragujevac) most recently played for the FK TSC under-19 side.

On March 17, the club announced the signing of former Guyana national team forward Shaquille Agard. Agard transferred from League1 Ontario side Master’s FA for which he played in the 2021 Canadian Championship.

On April 1, the club announced the signing of experienced defender Petar Planic (transferring from Thór Akureyri in Iceland).

On April 2, the club announced the return of midfielder Marko Krasic who previously played for the club (on loan from FK Indjija) in 2015, winning the CSL Regular Season.

On April 3, the club announced the signing of goalkeeper John Smits who has played for FC Edmonton, Montreal Impact and the Wilmington Hammerheads.

On May 6, the club announced the signing of defender Ivan Cendic. Cendic (most recently with Sloboda Cacak) has featured for Vozdovac in Serbia and Scarborough SC – also a member of the Canadian Soccer League.

On May 12, the club announced the signing of defensive midfielder Nikola Djurkovic. Djurkovic (born January 3, 1994 in Podgorica, Montenegro) has played for several Montenegrin clubs including Buducnost Podgorica, Decic Tuzi and most recently Jezero Plav.

On June 22, the club announced the signing of centre-back Dejan Jakovic. Jakovic (who has played for clubs such as Red Star Belgrade, D.C. United, Los Angeles FC and Forge FC) is a well-known name in Canadian soccer having played for the Canadian men’s national team from 2008 to 2018 (including the 2009, 2015 and 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cups).

On July 29, the club announced the signing of experienced forward Marko Pavicevic (transferring from OFK Beograd in Serbia). Pavicevic has played for several top clubs in Serbia and in Greece and was the 2008–09 Serbian First League top scorer.

​On August 4, the club announced the signing of goalkeeper Marko Kostic. Kostic has played for Serbian sides Radnicki Kragujevac, Trepca and most recently Sloga Kraljevo. He has chosen to wear the number 47 for the Serbian White Eagles.

These additions were welcomed by head coach Uros Stamatovic who stepped in this April to replace the outgoing Zoran Rajovic who was head coach for the 2021 season. Stamatovic – the longest serving head coach in the history of our club – is now in his fourth tenure as head coach.
