GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

Forward Zoran Rajovic scored three goals to lead Serbian White Eagles in their final regular season game of the season to a 5-2 victory over TFC Academy, the only game in the Canadian Soccer League Friday night.

Forward Richard West opened the scoring for Serbian White Eagles at Downsview Park, his left foot drive from 10 yards found the net just to the right of TFC goalkeeper Alexander Tothemunt. The goal, scored at the 13th minute mark, was West’s 15th of the season.

TFC Academy tied the score 1-1 four minutes later, a goal by Nicolas Lindsay who found the net past Serbian Eagles goalkeeper Milos Djurkovic.

The Academy side went ahead 2-1 at 26 minutes, a goal by midfielder Adrian Abila, but Serbian Eagles drew level 2-2 with a goal by midfielder Kirie Dimitrov at the 33rd minute mark.

Rajovic scored the first of three at 41 minutes for a 3-2 Serbian Eagles lead, struck again at 79 minutes and followed up with a third goal at 89 minutes to complete the hat-trick. The hat-trick moved the prolific forward’s tally to 18 goals for the season.

Serbian White Eagles completed their regular season of 22 games with the win, ending with a 10-7-5 WLT record for 35 points, to finish 6th or 7th in the standings depending on the outcome of the TFC Academy game of Wednesday, October 10.
