Our Serbian White Eagles kicked off their 2023 Canadian Soccer League campaign with a 4-2 victory over expansion side Ooty Black Pearl FC on May 28.
Dario Brazak opened the scoring for Ooty Black Pearl at 22 minutes and Marko Krasic drew level for Serbian White Eagles just before the break. Serbian White Eagles pressed during the early stages of the second half with Srdjan Simovic and Marko Stajic coming close to scoring including Stajic striking the post.
Serbian White Eagles took a 2-1 lead at 55 minutes with a drive from the right wing from Petar Planic and Black Pearl tied the score 2-2 at 70 minutes when Anderson Silva collected the ball inside the White Eagles half to move in and find the net.
Serbian White Eagles took a 3-2 lead when Planic crossed the ball for Stefan Milosevic to head into the net from approximately ten metres and the Eagles went further ahead 4-2 with a left foot snap shot by Marko Krasic, his second of the match at 83 minutes for a 4-2 score at the final whistle.
Our team plays its next match on Saturday June 3 (6:00 PM) at Mattamy Field in Mississauga against the expansion FC Dynamo.
