Our Serbian White Eagles achieved a significant 1-0 victory against one of our main rivals Scarborough SC today thanks to Danilo Bakoc who drove the ball home from eight yards past Scarborough goalkeeper Rodolfo Toledo in the 67th minute.
The win keeps our team in third place in the standings with twenty-two points (tied with second place Toronto Falcons and league-leading Scarborough who is first due to goal differential).
After the game, Serbian White Eagles head coach Bojan Zoranovic had this to say:
“We enter every game with the intention of winning and our goal is to be at the very top of the table. This victory is significant for several reasons. First of all because our opponent had three points more than us and, with our victory, we equalized that difference. It is also important because of the games played against one another as we are now in advantage after this victory. The two remaining regular season games are with Hamilton and Unity and our goal is to record victories and be ready for the playoffs.”
Our Serbian White Eagles play their next game on Sunday September 22 (4:00 PM) at Rob Ford Stadium in Etobicoke against Hamilton City.
